Bikes and Scooters

At Water Spring MS, we welcome all your students’ bicycles, e-bikes and scooters!

We do have a few ground rules:

Students need to walk their bikes and scooters while on our property.

Students are required, by law, to wear helmets.

Please see the information from the Orange County Sheriffs Department to the right regarding the difference between an electric bicycle and an electric motorcycle.

Electric motorcycles are NOT allowed on campus.

Every electric bicycle manufactured after 2021 has a sticker affixed to it indicating the wattage of the bike.  Please do not remove that sticker.  It needs to be visible so that we can determine that the vehicle your student is riding to school is not an electric morotcycle, as these have become increasingly popular, are very dangerous and are not street legal.  Students can only ride these e-motos on private property, not on roadways, sidewalks or bike paths.

For the 2026-27 school year, all bikes and scooters will need to be registered with the school, with proof of the type and speed of the vehicle, so it is imperative that these stickers be visible on the bike.

We care about the safety of your student!  Please ensure that your student understands the rules of the road and always wears their helmet when out riding, so they can be safe while having fun with their friends!
