MIDDLE SCHOOL MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT
Mark your calendars! We can’t wait to welcome our families back for the upcoming school year. To help manage traffic and give everyone the best experience, we have tailored tracks for our grade levels.
Check out the schedule below to plan your evening.
6th Grade Transition Track
Designed for getting to know the campus and practicing the daily routine.
- 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Principal’s Welcome Address and Guidance Counselor Presentation (Auditorium)
- 4:30 PM – 5:45 PM: Simulated Bell Schedule. Students and parents will walk through an abbreviated 7-period day to meet every teacher.
- 5:45 PM – 6:30 PM: Club and Vendor Fair (Gym) – Meet our Partners in Education (PIE), the YMCA after-school team, and sign up for school clubs.
7th and 8th Grade Track
Welcome back, veterans! A mix of information and open exploration.
- 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Principal’s Welcome Address and Guidance Presentation (Auditorium)
- 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM: Open House Format. Visit classrooms, meet your teachers, drop off school supplies, and explore the Club and Vendor Fair in the Gym at your own pace.
All Evening: The Gym Hub (4:00 PM – 7:30 PM)

Tip for 6th Graders: Please have a digital copy or printout of your class schedule ready on your phone before 4:30 PM, so you know where to go for Period 1. The schedules will be released towards the end of July.
OCPS is pleased to provide digital devices* to all our students. Exposing our youth to digital learning is critical to preparing them for future success, and the district is recognized as a national leader due to the incredible efforts of our teachers and administrators. OCPS Code of Student Conduct outlines that students must not damage* school property. District-issued devices are the property of the School Board of Orange County and its taxpayers.
When a device or accessory is willfully or maliciously damaged, a student may receive disciplinary consequences based on the OCPS Code of Student Conduct. The OCPS Code of Student Conduct (p. 5) also states that the parent or guardian of a student may also have “accountability for loss or damage to OCPS property. As part of the consequences associated with the willful or malicious damage of a device, a student may be assessed a Device Incident Fee based on the four-year depreciation schedule of the device (each year ends June 30). The chart below details the depreciation schedule. Should a non-warranty repair be completed, the incident fee will be applied to the cost of the repair. However, if the repair falls under warranty and there is no cost to repair, the incident fee will be refunded.

Devices depreciate along a normal schedule, depending upon the features of the device, the expected life cycle, and normal wear and tear.
Accessory Fees
The chart below details the accessory fee structure, which is itemized based on accessory type (charger or protective case). The protective cases for devices in grades 6-12 are considered accessories. When an accessory is damaged, the student is responsible for the actual cost up to a maximum of $20 for the first incident and the full cost of replacement for subsequent incidents.

Please be aware that all student devices are used devices and, while functioning normally, may have cosmetic defects which do not affect the performance of the device. Students will not be charged for these minor cosmetic defects. Student responsibilty includes not coloring the keys, putting things between the keys, popping keys off the keyboard, taking good care of the device – handling it carefully, avoiding dropping it, breaking the screen or damaging other functional parts that would require that it be repaired. Normal wear and tear is not charged to the student.
If you cannot attend the day assigned to your grade, you can pick up your device during the first week of school.

Wildcat families,
Welcome to Water Spring Middle School! We just completed a wonderful 2025-2026 school year. Thank you to all of our teachers, staff, volunteers, family members, and students. This is truly an amazing community, and I look forward to the 2026-2027 school year.

Above all, we hope our students take this summer to relax, play, and truly recharge for the year ahead. While taking a break is important, simply opening a book and reading together each night is one of the most powerful learning tools you can use. Whether it's a graphic novel, a bedtime story, or an adventure tale, regular reading keeps young minds sharp and curious. Enjoy the sunshine, explore something new, dive into a great book, and we can't wait to see all of our Water Spring Wildcats back this fall!
