Student Laptops & Other Hardware
All students in Grades 6-8 are provided with a laptop featuring:
- Touchscreen
- Convertible keyboard
- Web camera
- Microphone
- Speakers
As with all curriculum materials, students are responsible for maintaining and protecting their devices from damage, loss, or virus infection. If a laptop, charger, or case is damaged to the point that it requires repair, a fine will be accessed on the following schedule.
Computer Damage/Loss
1st incident: $25
2nd incident: $50
3rd and any further incident: Total price of the computer (depreciated)
Charger or Case Damage/Loss
1st incident: $10
2nd incident: $15
3rd and any further incident: $25
Fines can be paid via SchoolPay or by cash or check in the Media Center. For any questions you might have regarding a device fine, please contact our Media Specialist, Ms. Preiser.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program
Students are allowed to bring their own laptops to use for class as long as it meets the district standards. If you are interested in finding out more about the BYOD program requirements, please visit the BYOD page on the OCPS website.
